Daniel is the Associate Director of the Tools of Thought Initiative for the Crime Lab. In this role, Daniel collaborates on the research and partnership strategy and operational implementation of the initiative, which aims to bring metacognitive interventions into the workforce to improve outcomes for employees and organizations. Daniel and the Tools of Thought Initiative are also affiliated with the Center for Decision Research and the Center for Applied AI, which are both housed at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Previously, Daniel was a partner at a venture studio, a high school math teacher, a pastor and a researcher. He holds an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a BS in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University.
