Ben Dieterich

Ben Dieterich is the Finance Director for the Crime and Education Labs. In this role, Ben oversees budgeting and finance for the organizations, ensuring good stewardship of financial resources to support the mission of the Labs. Prior to joining the Crime and Education Labs Ben served as Chief Financial Officer for the Illinois State Police and Deputy Budget Director for the City of Chicago.
In addition to his professional experience, Ben has held a number of volunteer roles, currently serving as chair of the Local School Council for Brentano Math and Science Academy, the local CPS elementary school his children attend.

Ben received his Master of Public Policy from the Harris School and a BA in Political Science and Social Studies Education from St. Olaf College. Ben is also an alum of the Civic Leadership Program through the University of Chicago’s Center for Effective Government.
