Bec Weeks is the Executive Director of the Tools of Thought Initiative at the Crime Lab and Education Lab. In this role, Bec owns the research and partnership strategy and operational implementation of the initiative, which aims to bring metacognitive interventions into the workforce to improve outcomes for employees and organizations. Bec and the Tools of Thought Initiative are also affiliated with the Center for Decision Research and the Center for Applied AI, which are both housed at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Previously, Bec was the co-founder of a behavioral science tech startup, a senior advisor in the Australian federal government’s behavioral science public policy research team (BETA), and a management consultant with Bain & Co. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and Bachelor’s degrees in both Economics and Law from the University of Sydney, Australia.
