Healing-Centered Violence Intervention Ecosystem
Serving Chicago’s South and West Sides, the Healing-Centered Violence Intervention Ecosystem integrates trauma-informed and culturally rooted healing practices into existing Community Violence Intervention and Hospital-Based Violence Intervention systems. Core activities include staff wellness supports, peer healing circles, somatic healing practices, culturally responsive therapy, and stronger hospital-to-community connections for survivors of violence. By addressing both community trauma and workforce burnout, the initiative aims to sustain reductions in gun violence, improve mental health outcomes, and build a more equitable violence prevention system.
