Greg is a community organizer, campaign strategist, experienced advocate and communications professional based in Washington, D.C. He joins our team after serving as the Deputy Director for the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, an office committed to reducing gun violence through policy change, implementation, resource distribution, and supporting communities most impacted by violence in the United States.
Prior to his White House appointment in September 2023, Greg served as a member of the CVILA Steering Committee. As he returns as an advisor to the CVILA, Greg will help develop and execute an alumni engagement strategy to ensure graduates stay connected to CVI resources and networks after they end their time in the academy. He will also support ongoing fundraising efforts to sustain the academy for future cohorts of students.
A gun violence survivor himself, Greg is a leading voice on gun violence prevention for Black and Brown communities. Previously, he was executive director of the Community Justice Action Fund, which advances policies to address gun violence in these communities. There, he led efforts that secured over $12 billion in public funding for gun violence prevention and led to the passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first gun violence law in 30 years. As Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee national field director, Jackson ran the largest midterm election voter registration program in U.S. history.
We are delighted to welcome Greg to the team.

About the CVILA
The Community Violence Intervention Leadership Academy (CVILA) is a first-of-its-kind education program designed to deepen the leadership and management practices of senior CVI leaders so they can effectively manage community-based organizations and implement CVI strategies at scale. Its purpose is to provide senior CVI leaders with five months of hands-on education, with the goal of achieving its two interconnected goals: reducing gun violence and scaling the CVI field.
