Statewide Strategy for Violence Prevention in NC
This project strengthens North Carolina’s approach to community violence prevention by establishing a unified statewide strategy through the Office of Violence Prevention (NC OVP). Despite growing need, limited state funding and fragmented local coordination have hindered sustainable progress. The initiative aims to develop and implement comprehensive violence reduction plans across counties—standardizing frameworks, enhancing collaboration, and improving accountability among local agencies. By supporting education, technical assistance, and cross-sector partnerships, the project will build consistent infrastructure for prevention and intervention, enabling measurable reductions in violence and demonstrating the value of long-term state investment in safety and healing.
