The Community-Based Organizing Incubator
The Community-Based Organization Incubator strengthens the sustainability of grassroots violence intervention groups in Washington, DC., with a focus on Wards 7 and 8. By providing tailored support in organizational infrastructure, strategic storytelling, and policy advocacy, the initiative helps local CVI organizations stabilize staffing, maintain program consistency, and expand impact in high-risk communities. Through workshops, coaching, and data-driven learning loops, the incubator equips 15–20 organizations annually to secure diverse funding, adopt sound financial systems, and reduce reliance on personal resources. Over time, this model will create a more resilient CVI ecosystem in DC. and offer a framework adaptable to other U.S. cities.
