The Inner Rebuild Project
The Inner Rebuild Project transforms Baltimore’s Safe Streets sites into neighborhood healing hubs that address the psychological and structural roots of violence among men ages 18–45. Led by the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, the initiative integrates trauma recovery, credible messenger mentorship, and workforce development to help participants unlearn cycles of violence and rebuild purpose. Through Real Talk Circles, cognitive-behavioral workshops, and community restoration projects, participants strengthen emotional literacy, stability, and connection. The project ultimately aims to reduce retaliatory incidents, increase employment, and develop Rebuild Ambassadors—leaders who model healing, accountability, and transformation across Baltimore’s most impacted communities.
