The Sankofa Center Rites of Passage Program: A Holistic Approach to Community Violence Intervention
This project integrates a Rites of Passage model into community violence intervention programming to prevent youth violence and disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline. Through culturally affirming mentorship, healing, and leadership development, it empowers youth for personal growth and community engagement while reducing arrests and promoting restorative justice.
