Violence Interruption Practitioner Development Initiative
Focused on the DMV region, this initiative strengthens the effectiveness of Violence Interruption practitioners through social-emotional learning, metacognitive skill-building, and trauma-informed professional development. Using the “How to Produce a Diamond” curriculum, practitioners are trained to move from reactive crisis response toward proactive violence prevention rooted in self-awareness, emotional regulation, and sound decision-making. Expected outcomes include improved practitioner retention, reduced retaliatory violence, and a stronger prevention-centered violence intervention workforce.
