Transitional Safe Housing
This project tackles the urgent need for transitional safe housing for high-risk youth and young adults in Newport News and the greater Hampton Roads region. Led by Abu Unity Incorporated, it introduces a trauma-informed housing model that integrates the VICTOR violence intervention framework to provide stability, mentorship, and supportive services. Through partnerships and innovative solutions such as tiny-home communities, the initiative aims to reduce youth homelessness and violence while strengthening pathways to education, employment, and long-term safety.
