Mapping the CVI Ecosystem in Harris County, Houston, Texas: Toward a Public Safety Roundtable
This project aims to strengthen coordination among community violence intervention organizations in Harris County, where rapid program growth has created fragmentation and inconsistent practice. Led by Harris County Public Health’s RISE initiative, the effort proposes a Public Safety Roundtable (PSRT) to align law enforcement, public health, and community partners through shared standards, data integration, and policy collaboration. By institutionalizing cross-sector governance, expanding community hubs like the RISE Empowerment Center, and aligning funding with prevention priorities, the project seeks to transform isolated interventions into a unified, evidence-based ecosystem that reduces violence and advances equitable public safety across Houston.
