Trauma-Informed Youth Violence Exposure Response
Developed through the City of Jackson’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, this strategy strengthens prevention systems for youth ages 12–24 exposed to violence in high-risk neighborhoods. Core activities include trauma-informed screening across schools and partner agencies, coordinated case management, credible messenger engagement, and shared data systems for accountability. By improving early identification, access to behavioral health supports, and cross-sector coordination, the initiative aims to reduce youth involvement in violence and improve community safety over time.
