The Arise & Go Project seeks to transform Latino gang culture in Los Angeles by embedding credible, faith-centered violence intervention workers directly within gang-impacted communities. Rather than responding only after violence occurs, the project deploys trained messengers with lived experience to model transformation, mediate conflicts, and offer pathways to healing, employment, and purpose. Through outreach, case management, and culturally rooted workforce programs, Arise & Go aims to redefine what it means to “put in work,” shifting it from retaliation to responsibility, respect, and restoration. Over time, the initiative envisions breaking generational cycles of violence and building safer, spiritually grounded communities across Southern California.
