Healing Wings
The Healing Wings Initiative by Focus Fairies Mentoring empowers high-risk Black and Brown girls in Chicago through trauma-informed mentorship, prevention, and restoration. Over a 12-month pilot, the program will serve girls ages 12–21 in schools, communities, and juvenile facilities, providing mentoring circles, group therapy, and reentry support. By combining prevention, in-care, and after-care services, Healing Wings promotes emotional healing, educational re-engagement, and leadership development. The initiative aims to reduce girls’ exposure to gun violence and justice involvement while fostering resilience, self-worth, and community empowerment.
