United Against Violence Trauma-Informed Healing & Community Safety Initiative
The United Against Violence: Trauma-Informed Healing & Community Safety Initiative, in partnership with Remedy for Peace Center, is a community violence prevention strategy focused on Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. Using a public health approach, the initiative combines street outreach, conflict mediation, and rapid-response support after violent incidents with long-term trauma-informed clinical care. Participants are connected to therapy, mindfulness practices, psychiatric referrals, youth creative programming, vocational opportunities, and family-centered services. By integrating prevention, intervention, and healing, the project aims to reduce retaliatory violence, improve emotional well-being, and strengthen community safety.
