HUBB: Harnessing Unity by Building Bridges
This project proposes the creation of a community violence intervention Hub in Portsmouth, VA to address persistent gun violence through a coordinated, multi-sector approach. The Hub will unify efforts across law enforcement, public health, education, and community organizations, focusing on prevention, intervention, and long-term support. By integrating mentorship, economic empowerment, crisis response, and trauma-informed care, the initiative aims to reduce violence, support healing, and build a more resilient, equitable community.
