C.A.R.S (Creating Realistic Solution)
C.A.R.S. (Creating A Realistic Solution) is a twelve-week youth violence prevention and workforce development initiative based in Newark, New Jersey, serving young people ages 14–24 at high risk of auto-related crime and street violence. Using an Earn to Learn model, the program combines trauma-informed mentoring, conflict resolution, STEM learning, car simulator competitions, entrepreneurship, media production, and paid career pathways. By redirecting thrill-seeking behavior into structured achievement and opportunity, the initiative aims to reduce involvement in auto crime, improve emotional regulation, and increase long-term connection to employment and positive community networks.
